I recently graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in history. I plan on attending Graduate School at UGA in January to pursue a masters in education. I continued playing in college and was a memebr of the Redcoat Marching Band for three years. In that time I have traveled across the country and the world playing for DAWGS football games, and also participated in the UGA cultural exchange prgram when the Redcoats went on tour in China in the summer of 2006. It was a blast to bring american style marching band to a new country, and it was a great experience to travel in such an ancient and mysterious land. I look back on my time in the band at Central as one of the happiest times of my life and I cherish every experience I shared with my friends and band family. I am extremely proud to see the band continue to excel and I am thankful that many others can enjoy the wonderful experience of learning and exploring the beauty of   music.

For two years I ran my own daycare center. I was employed by the Carrollton City School System for ten years until I recently resigned under doctor's care due to my health.

I graduated college at West Georgia.  I have a bachelors and Master degree in education.  I am married to James Barber, an optometrist in Covington, Ga.  I have two adult children, Megan and Adam ages 24 and 22.  Megan is married to Aaron Ratcliffe.  Both of my children were in the band in high school.  Megan was in the colorgaurd and was drum major her senior year.  Adam was a percussionist.  He was captain his junior and senior year.  I was band booster president at one point during all of this.  Band was the most fun thing I did in high school.  I wanted my children to have that experience too.

I recently retired from teaching middle school after 32 years.

Then I moved to Dollar General where I am still employed. I am one of the 3rd Key Managers. I have a beautiful daughter that I adopted a couple of years ago. And I recently just got married to my best friend Jeff.
